Dear Parent,

Preparation programs for the Sacraments of Initiation will be offered in our Parish of St Joseph's Cessnock throughout this year.

Naturally, the Church recognises parents as the prime educators of their children in all aspects of their lives and the role of the Sacramental Team is to offer support to you on this journey of faith development.

You can register your child's name with M'Liss at the Parish Office (49901551).

You are asked to consider the following points before completing the enrolment form and beginning this program with your child/children:

• you must be confident that your child is ready to participate fully in the preparation sessions;
• your family calendar needs to be checked to ensure attendance by at least one parent at all sessions, including Mass. (Please do not ‘send’ your child with another family – your personal involvement is required);
• you are prepared to engage with your child throughout the preparation (eg, complete any home tasks and continue ‘the conversation’ about the sacraments in your family life);
• Baptismal Certificate must be provided;
• each child is required to have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation before being enrolled in the Sacraments of Confirmation or First Eucharist;
• there is a cost involved which covers resources and incidentals. If you are having financial difficulties, please do feel free to talk to me (Kate) or with Fr James.

Enrolment forms will be emailed to parents once their names are registered with M'Liss at the Parish Office.
